Sam Rolfes

Sam Rolfes is an improvisational 3D animator and VR/motion capture performer/director who explores experimental leftist meme propaganda and experimental narrative performance via fragmented, painterly 3D animation and digital sculpture within game engines.

Sam Rolfes' practice expresses itself across multiple industries and platforms such as livestream improvisational comedy, live motion-capture animation on large festival stages and inside underground rave bunkers, print design for fashion collections, album covers, and music videos.

Rolfes has collaborated with numerous musicians, fashion designers, and companies such as Cashmere Cat, Amnesia Scanner, Adult Swim, Nicola Formichetti, KAIMIN, Nike, Josh Pan, Skrillex, Lunice, Denzel Curry, Danger Incorporated, Dawn Richard, Kingdom, Slickback, Danny Brown, Super Deluxe, Danny L Harle, and Caroline Polachek, and has performed his 3D theatre internationally including Unsound Festival in Krakow, Sonic Acts in Amsterdam, Day for Night in Houston, and Berlin Atonal.
